What can I expect when I visit Professional Pain Associates?
- At your first visit, we will review your present and past medical history and perform a thorough physical examination. This will allow us to get an understanding of your needs and make a detailed diagnosis.
- From there, we will follow up with any additional examinations or imaging that may be needed, which will allow us to set up expectations, goals, and a treatment plan. We work together with you and your family as needed so you can get the best outcome.
- Please note that we do not prescribe any pain medication at your first visit. Pain medication may be prescribed after a thorough clinical evaluation, receipt of a discharge letter from your previous provider, and your signature on our Narcotics Consent Policy.

- Spinal epidural steroid injections, including transforaminal, interlaminal and caudal epidural injections
- Selected spinal nerve blocks
- Facet joint injections or spinal dorsal nerve injections
- Vertebroplasty with bone cement
- Sacroiliac joint injections and neuroablation
- Spinal cord stimulation/ peripheral nerve stimulation trial and implantation
- Intrathecal baclofen, morphine pump trial and implantation
- Joint, tendon and bursa injections
- Trigger point or Botox injection
- Coccyx injection or ganglion impar injection for chronic coccyx or pelvis pain
- Intercostal nerve blocks and neuroablation
- Radiofrequency neuroablation and chemical neuroablation
- Discogram and intradiscal electrothermal therapy
- Minimally invasive disc decompression surgery
- Peripheral nerve blocking including cranial nerve blocks such as occipital/supraorbital/ trigeminal nerve blocks.
